Summer fashions that can be recycled :)

Have I been bad...yes I have been!! for the entire summer I haven't posted any blogs :( I do apologies again and again and again. Summer is so effortless, it's a happy time and it's so easy to look good in the summer.

However, it's autumn and soon it will be winter...the time we ladies stop shaving our legs...lol and pretty much look like frumps.

Anyways, what this blog is going to be aimed at is all the summer looks and fashions that can still be worn in autumn and possibly winter.

First we'll have a look on Aztec prints... Aztec prints were so big last winter, over the summer and looks like it's here to stay. It's my favourite trend thus far. Aztec is such a versatile print it can be worn casually, to the club and even in the work place depending on the colour palette used.

Add a pop of colour to any solid piece of clothing with this beautiful scarf

Aztec Print tiered cardigan, very pretty and warm... I have one of these :)

I suggest wearing black leather or pleather with this print, it's like 2 different end of the fashion spectrum in one outfit quite like opposites :) Think of hobo chic meeting hard rocker style :D

With that note denim is another trend that can be worn from summer to autumn and also goes well with Aztec print.

This outfit can be worn in a more tropical climate liiikkee Jamaaiiica , but if your in a place where the climate is in the teens right now then add some opaque tights and instead of a jeans gillette you can wear a jeans long sleeved shirt

Have fun with the Aztec print and remember it is extremely versatile...so if you are a converse and vans girl...biker girl, boho chic and sexilicious girly girl then this is da print for uuuu!
The versatility of the tribal print

Denim shirt with silver flat stud accents
Seeing that denim is still very much in fashion, all those denim shirts you happened to buy or steal away from the males in you life you still have good use for them :) However you can jazz them up to make them look really in season by putting spikes on them...that's if you have the creative flair. You can buy spikes/ studs from ebay and your local arts and craft stores or just follow this link right here:

Remember like aztec, denim is pretty versatile. So throw it over a dress that you want to tone down, or wear with your tshirt or by itself. Be creative :)
Rih Rih being creative with her denim shirt ;)
Perfect for lectures, add a different colour or print for the dress underneath. Try stripes and rock your bikers or converse :)

Next is the Peplum! This is very much in season and I don't know when it's gonna come out... and I really don't want it to... Peplums are awesome!! Especially to accentuate curves or give those with none some :P

You have peplum skirts, dresses, blouses. You have peplums in all colours and sizes and remember peplums can be worn by everyone! Big...small...and in between :)
I find that the peplum top tends to be the most versatile as it can be made to look casual or chic depending on what accessories and other pieces of clothing you pair it with.

Last but not least ....The pastel... you have to be careful with this one  it depends on which pastel... I'll give you three examples that can be worn :
Pastel pink believe it or not....
BTW Have you been eyeing Lana del Rey for H&M... look on this gorgeous jumper she has on :)
I am in love with this sweater and Lana ...<3

Lilac and that pastel blue/ mint green colour

The reasons these still work is because they have a cool effect, rather than the yellow counterpart. These colour make me think of frosty sorbets in Baskin and Robins.

There are so many other recyclable trends. Remember that fashion is like a big cycle, designers just add Personal touches or modernise it. Moral of this blog don't go dumping your clothes or go on a crazy shopping spree, look through your closet first. If you have loads of cash then shop to your hearts content lol :)

Orange Soda Lips

Nicki Minaj got the whole pink lip thing going craaazzzyy, but now it's as cliche as "dress to impress". Don't get me wrong a pink lip can be very gorgeous and compliments most outfits, but I think its time we move along the colour spectrum. Which colour is that? Orange! Yes I said orange, tangerine, peach colours and Corals if you're not as adventurous.

A peachy lip brings out golden tones in your skin and is perfect for this summer. Think of beach waves, sexy bikini, flushed skin with minimal make up and a pretty orange pout :) Another good thing about this colour is that it can bring you straight into Autumn, that is if your obsessed with the colour like me ;)

Here's a pic Rih Rih in Orange…Hot or Not?

Ok I know some of you are like, 'Rihanna can look good in almost everything', but look on the collage I made and you will see women of all colours rocking this awesome colour ;)

As with all lipsticks you have to go for a shade that fits your complexion and with the colour Orange there is a wide range of shades to choose from… If you are still a bit timid start out with sheer peachy tones (I find this boosts the colour of your lips).  Below is a collage with all these gorgeous shades of orange :)

The orange lippy I use is actually a lip tint by Sleek Cosmetics. The colour is called Lava:) I absolutely loove it. I put on loads if I want to amp it up or if I want just a casual look then I put on a really small amount and dab off some of it if needed.
Here is a video on how you can rock this beautiful hue :)

This article I found is really informative. http://voices.yahoo.com/how-wear-orange-lipstick-8068626.html It helps you to choose orange lip colour based on the undertones of your skin. It really is important because if a lipstick does not match your undertones properly it can really throw you off ( making you look clown like or really old…to make it simple you won't look cute).

Life is too short to stick to just normal reds and pinks, There is ROYGBIV to try…. So wear it and own it ;) Follow and Comment guys!!! Also you can suggest stuff to me by emailing fancygurlja@yahoo.co.uk

Kim Kardashian Inspired Fishtail Ponytail

Hey My Fancy people!!

Recently I have become totally obsessed with plaits, Braids, twists whatever you call them. If you have been paying attention to the runway, braids etc have been rocking it. Plaits are no longer for little girls it has totally grown up;)

Along with these awesome plaits I had inspiration from Kim Kardashian and her envied high ponytail hairstyle. This combination will make the plaits less "beach girl"or relaxed and make it more slick, sexy and cool. This Hairstyle is perfect for clubbing or when you want to channel your inner "Nikita" LOL!

What you will need:

If you have Kim K length hair or longer you won't need all the things mentioned.

  • Hair Spray
  • Elastic Bands
  • Hair Scrunchy or whatever you use to put your hair in a pony.
  • Bump it* (If necessary)

To Make Pony if your hair is not long enough

  • 18 inches or more length hair extensions on weft
  • Wig clips
  • Needle and weaving thread/ Normal Thread (Doubled)

This is how my hairstyle came out :)

Feeling cool @ the Drake concert lol

Below is a video I watched to learn how to fish plait.

This is a quick video I made on how to do the hairstyle with extensions:

To make the hairstyle even more great use nice hair accessories like feathers beads etc. Also with the use of extensions you can make a low ponytail for a laid back look.

Also I'll have a few blogs in between about other things going on. For all those who decide to follow my blog feel free to suggest topics or things I can try out. I hope you enjoy :) FancyGurl
